Project Description
The applicant requests Sign Review approval to install a new 20-square-foot internally illuminated under canopy sign from a pole attached perpendicularly to the building façade at the front side of an in-line tenant space within the Marin Gateway Shopping Center located in an unincorporated area of Sausalito. The proposed sign would measure two feet tall by ten feet in length and would consist of an aluminum face and cabinet painted satin black with acrylic and vinyl “Gold Nugget 3630-141” colored letters that would read “MC Arts Gallery.” The sign would be mounted eight feet above the walkway on an existing hanging raceway at the main entrance of a tenant space (160 Donahue St., Suite B) located in the Marin Gateway Shopping Center as identified in the Marin City U.S.A. Sign Program.
Sign Review approval is required pursuant to Marin County Code Section 22.60.020.A.2 because the Marin City U.S.A. Sign Program indicates that under canopy signs that exceed 48 inches by 13 inches (4.33 square feet) are subject to discretionary Sign Review.
