Project Description

The applicant requests Sign Review approval to install two 25.5 (51 square feet total) square foot internally illuminated parapet wall signs on an existing tenant space within the Marin Gateway Shopping Center located in an unincorporated area of Sausalito. The proposed signs would measure two feet tall by 12 feet, 9 inches in length, and would consist of internally illuminated custom “dual color” vinyl letter faces that would appear as blue letters during the daytime and as white letters at nighttime that would read “Marin City Animal Hospital” and vinyl logos digitally printed in blue, gray, rust, and red colors that represent the face of a dog, a medical care symbol, a paw print, and the face of a cat, respectfully. The two identical signs would be mounted to the existing building façade; one sign would be mounted on the eastern front, and one sign would be mounted to the northern side of an existing tenant space (160 Donahue St., Suites I & J) located in the Marin Gateway Shopping Center as identified in the Marin City U.S.A. Sign Program.

Sign Review approval is required pursuant to Marin County Code Section 22.60.020.A.2 because the Marin City U.S.A. Sign Program states that two parapet signs per business may be allowed through Sign Review.
