What is the Airport Land Use Plan?

The Airport Land Use Plan (Plan) aims to harmonize future land use surrounding the Gnoss Field airport with airport operations. Its policies foster public safety and preserve the airport as a community asset.

Why are we updating the Plan?

The Airport Land Use Commission first adopted the Plan in 1991 and it is now over thirty-two years old. We commit to modernizing the Plan to:

  • Adhere to statutory requirements.
  • Incorporate contemporary guidance from the 2011 California Airport Land Use Planning Handbook.
  • Safeguard public health, safety, and welfare.
  • Account for changes in current and forecasted airport operations.
  • Align with current land use trends.
