Overview

The Language Accessibility Advisory Committee, or LAAC, was formed as required for implementation of the Voter’s Choice Act. The purpose of the Committee is to:

  • Advise and assist the Registrar of Voters with implementation of the Voter’s Choice Act relating to access of language minority voters.
  • Advise the Registrar of Voters on potential barriers to participation for language minority voters.
  • Advise the Registrar of Voters on effective strategies to serve voters needing language assistance or services, as required by state or federal election law.
  • Advise and/or assist the Registrar of Voters in establishing community partnerships that may facilitate serving language minority voters.
