Probation Arrests 5 in Check on Past Offenders

San Rafael, CA -- On Wednesday, July 12, the Marin County Probation Department conducted an operation for Probation Bench Warrants, a compliance check for the defendants on Post Release Community Supervision, and AB 109 Mandatory Supervision.

The operation consists of a multi-agency operation of the District Attorney's Office, Marin County Sheriff's Office (COPE), San Rafael Police Department, Novato Police Department, and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation K-9 Unit.

The focus of this operation was to locate and arrest the probationers that have outstanding warrants, and check compliance with defendants on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) and Mandatory Supervision (MS).

Forty-two home visits were conducted during the operation, and five subjects were arrested for outstanding warrants. Additionally, three other probationers were cited and released on new law violations. Some law violations included possessing a stun gun, switchblade knife, narcotics, paraphernalia, and gang attire.

These routine operations ensure community safety by exercising due diligence to resolve outstanding warrants and maintain compliance with defendants on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) and Mandatory Supervision (MS). The Marin County Probation Department is committed to providing services for defendants, including treatment, counseling, employment, and housing opportunities while maintaining a heightened awareness of community safety and accountability.
