Seats Open on Two Utility District Boards

Applications will be accepted through October 23

San Rafael, CA – Starting October 2, the Marin County Board of Supervisors is accepting applications for appointments to the Alto Sanitary District Board of Directors and the Stinson Beach Water District Board of Directors.

The Alto board has an opening one two-year seat ending December 2020. The district is the sewer agency responsible for wastewater collection from the homes and businesses in the unincorporated Alto neighborhood of Mill Valley. The Stinson Beach board, which oversees service of potable water to about 730 homes and businesses in a 10-square-mile area, has one four-year seat available with a term ending in December 2022.

The application period ends at 5 p.m. on October 23. The individuals appointed must be a registered voter in their respective district.

The open seats occurred because not enough candidates filed for the seats on the board of directors during the filing period before the November 6, 2018, election.

Applications are available beginning October 2 at the Marin County Board of Supervisors, Marin County Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive, Suite 329, San Rafael, CA 94903, or by calling 415-473-7331, or by sending an email to commissions@marincounty.org. Applications may be requested by contacting the district offices at altosanitary@gmail.com or helma@stinson-beach-cwd.dst.ca.us.
