Register by May 23 to Vote June 7

Deadline is just days away

San Rafael, CA – The registration deadline for the June election is fast approaching, so now is the time to check your status. Voters can register online at www.registertovote.ca.gov or fill out and mail a voter registration form, which must be post marked on or before May 23.

A young person who's face is out of the photo frame looks at voter registration papers. It's an exciting time for young people preparing to vote for the first time.
“If you recently registered at the DMV but didn’t complete the two-step process, we might not have received your registration,” said

Lynda Roberts, Marin County’s Registrar of Voters. “Please take time to check with us.”

In addition to presidential candidates, this election will include candidates for U.S. Senator, U.S. Representative, Member of the State Assembly, and Judge of the Superior Court. The ballot will also include one state proposition, a countywide measure, and candidates and measures for voters residing in certain areas of the county.

If you are registered as No Party Preference (NPP), the American Independent, Democratic, and Libertarian parties are having an open primary and will allow you to select their ballot. Otherwise, you will receive a nonpartisan ballot without presidential candidates.

If you vote at the polls and are registered NPP, you can ask your poll worker for one of the open primary ballots. If you vote by mail, the Party Preference Form is online at www.marinvotes.org

For those who want to vote for a presidential candidate on the Green, Peace and Freedom, or Republican ballot, you must re-register and choose that party.
