Help Shape the Future of Paradise Beach Park

Public invited to master plan community workshop for Tiburon Peninsula gem

San Rafael, CA – The Marin public is invited to share thoughts and ideas about the future of Paradise Beach Park, a popular and picturesque gathering spot on the Tiburon Peninsula, in preparation for a long-term plan.

A view of Paradise Beach Park taken from the end of the pier looking back toward the grass, trees and hills on the shore.Marin County Parks will host the first in a series of public meetings to develop a new master plan for the park Wednesday, February 11, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Mill Valley Community Center, 180 Camino Alto in Mill Valley. The agenda includes an open house beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the workshop portion commencing at 7.

Made possible by Measure A funding, the Paradise Beach Park master plan will guide the long-term improvement of the park’s infrastructure and recreational facilities. Public participation is a critical component of the master plan and will help landscape architects and other staff shape the kinds of facilities and recreational opportunities the community wants and needs.

The park is nestled along the east side of the Tiburon Peninsula and has sparkling views of San Francisco Bay and the East Bay shoreline. It has been a recreational mainstay in Marin for nearly 150 years and a County park since the early 1960s. During World War II, the site was part of the Naval Net Depot, along with the nearby California State University Romberg Center.

In addition to the community workshop, the public is invited to participate in an online survey at www.surveymonkey.com/s/paradisebeach.
