Get Money-Saving Answers at Healthier Home Forum

Free event offered Oct. 17 by County’s Sustainability Team

Are you getting the best energy value out of your home? Imagine lower utility bills, improved indoor air quality, boosted home value and a reduced impact on the environment.

The Marin County Sustainability Team will explain the benefits of home energy efficiency at a free forum on Oct. 17 at the Marin County Civic Center.

The forum is for those seeking to make homes more comfortable, durable and efficient. Sustainability Team members will talk about rebates and other resources available to Marin County homeowners. Home energy experts and homeowners who have completed upgrades will be on hand to share their stories. If you have questions about your home’s efficiency, this is the place to get answers.

Since 2001, the Sustainability Team has supported healthy, safe and sustainable communities while preserving Marin’s unique environmental heritage. Housed in the County’s Community Development Agency, the team has developed programs to promote renewable energy, tackle climate protection, encourage green building, certify green businesses and implement energy efficiency in schools, cities and special districts.

The forum starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Civic Center’s Board of Supervisors chambers, Room 330, 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael. Enjoy light refreshments, too. For more information, check www.marincounty.org/energyupgrade.
