San Rafael, CA – Marin County’s Registrar of Voters, Lynda Roberts, announced today that the June 7, 2022, Statewide Direct Primary Election is certified and the official final results have been posted.
This election had 170,811 registered voters of which 84,566 cast ballots, resulting in nearly a 50% turnout. The turnout in the 2018 Statewide Primary Election was nearly 56%.
The state-required manual tally confirmed that the equipment counted ballots accurately. The Board of Supervisors will accept the canvass of votes and declare results at the July 12 meeting.
Roberts thanked the hard-working vote center election workers and elections team, including the help of extra hire workers.
“This was the first election with the new vote center model, and overall operations ran smoothly. We learned a lot this first time through and we plan to adjust and fine-tune the process where needed,” said Roberts.
The Elections team is starting to prepare for the 2022 November 8 general election.
