San Rafael, CA – The Marin County Elections Department will start the manual tally of the November 5 local elections on Monday, November 18, to verify the accuracy of the machine count of ballots.
Following California Elections Code §15360, Marin County’s Election Official will randomly select at least 1% of the ballots cast at the polls and by mail. The random selection of ballots will take place at 9:30 a.m. that morning in the Elections Department, located in Suite 121 of the Marin County Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael.
The manual tally of the ballots selected will begin immediately thereafter and is a public process.
Registrar of Voters Lynda Roberts plans to certify the election prior to Thanksgiving. The official final results will be posted once the election is certified.
