Use Drop-off Box for Vote-by-Mail Ballots

Secure ballot box is available outside Civic Center in San Rafael

San Rafael, CA – As a reminder to those who vote by mail, a red, white and blue secure ballot box is stationed at the main entrance to the Marin County Civic Center through 8 p.m. election day. The main entrance is on Peter Behr Drive under the Civic Center’s south archway.

“We check the box every afternoon and retrieve ballots so we can process them right away,” said Registrar of Voters Lynda Roberts.

She also reminds voters to sign their return envelope or the Elections Department cannot process the ballot.

For those who want to mail a ballot, the postmark matters.

“We can now process ballots that are postmarked on or before election day as long as we receive them within three days after the election,” Roberts added.

Voters may also cast ballots in person during regular weekday hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or on election day, November 3, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
