Deadlines for Filing Arguments and Rebuttals Marin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District Flood Control Zone No. 5, Stinson Beach Measure


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Marin County Registrar of Voters that the following district measure will be on the ballot for the March 3, 2015, Special Election:

SPECIAL DISTRICT

MARIN COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL ZONE NO. 5, STINSON BEACH MEASURE A
To provide funding to: reduce riverine flooding risk for residents, visitors, and businesses; maintain natural creek functions; reduce sediment entering Bolinas Lagoon; and incorporate habitat enhancements for fish and wildlife, shall a special tax be levied within Zone 5 for 20 years in the amount of $250.00 per year for improved parcels and $50.00 per year for unimproved parcels?

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that arguments for or against the measure, with Filer Statement Form and Signature Statement Form, must be submitted to the Marin County Elections Office, Room 121, Marin Civic Center, San Rafael, California, 4:30 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2014. Arguments for or against the above measure must not be more than 300 words.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the governing board, or any member or members of the board, or any bona fide association of citizens, or any individual voter who is eligible to vote on the measure, or any combination of such associations and voters may submit written arguments for or against the measure. Arguments may not be changed or withdrawn after 4:30 p.m. on December 15. The Registrar of Voters of Marin County will print one argument for and one argument against each measure in the Voter Information Pamphlet, which is mailed to all registered voters in the district.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that when the Registrar of Voters has selected the argument in favor and against each measure, the Registrar will send a copy of the argument in favor to the author of the argument against and a copy of the argument against to the author of the argument in favor. The authors may prepare and submit rebuttal arguments not exceeding 250 words. The rebuttal arguments must be filed with the Registrar of Voters by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2014. Rebuttal arguments shall be printed in the same manner as the direct arguments. Each rebuttal argument shall immediately follow the direct argument, which it seeks to rebut.

A Filer Statement Form and Signature Statement Form, available from the Election Office, must be turned in with all arguments and rebuttals. For information or to obtain forms, contact the Elections Office at (415) 473-6437.Measure Arguments and Rebuttals will be available for public examination in the Elections Office for ten (10) days from each filing date.
