NOTICE OF ELECTION


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO ALL QUALIFIED PERSONS that a General Election will be held in Marin County on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 for the following school and special district offices.

Marin Resource Conservation District Must be a registered voter of the state, reside within the district and either own real property within the district or have served for two years or more as an associate director to the Board, or be a designated agent of a resident landowner. Requires signatures of five (5) landowners within the district. (Public Resources Code 9352(a)(b), 9358.) 2

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the official Declaration of Candidacy forms for eligible candidates desiring to file for the school and special district elective offices listed above are available at the Marin County Elections Department, Room 121, Marin Civic Center, San Rafael, California, from July 14 at 8:00 a.m. through August 8, at 5:00 p.m. 2014. (Candidates for Sausalito City Council file with the Sausalito City Clerk.) Declaration of Candidacy forms shall be accepted for filing at the Elections Department during regular office hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but not later than 5:00 p.m. August 8, 2014. In the event that an incumbent officeholder does not file for his/her district office by August 8, the filing period will be extended for that district until 5:00 p.m. August 13 for non-incumbent candidates only.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that in the event there are no nominees or an insufficient number of nominees for any governing board member and a petition signed by 10 percent of the voters (or 50 voters, whichever is less) of the District requesting an election be held is not presented to the office of the Registrar of Voters by August 13, 2014 at 5:00 p.m., an appointment to the elective office will be made as follows: For school districts: by the Governing Board of the School District as prescribed by Education code Section 5328. For other districts: pursuant to CA Elections Code Section 10515.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2014.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN California Elections Code Section 12109, all vote by mail ballots for the General Election will be processed beginning on October 24, 2014 at the Marin Civic Center, Room 121, San Rafael, California.
