Bolinas-Stinson Schools Election Coming Up June 4

Voters to weigh in on six-year parcel tax

San Rafael -- Tuesday, June 4, is Election Day for voters in the Bolinas-Stinson Union School District to weigh in on a special tax to support public education.

Approximately 1,500 eligible voters in the West Marin area will determine whether to approve an annual assessment of $300 per parcel over six years starting in July 2014. Parcel owners aged 65 or older would be exempt from the special tax.

The polls will be open from 7 AM to 8 PM on Election Day and are located at the Stinson Beach Community Center, 30 Belvedere, Stinson Beach and the Bolinas Community Center, 14 Wharf Rd., Bolinas.

The deadline for the Elections Office to receive voted ballots from vote by mail voters is June 4 at 8 PM. Voters should mail their ballots in time for them to reach the Elections Office by 8 PM. Postmarks don’t count. On Election Day, voters may drop off their ballots at either polling place. Results of the election are expected to be posted on the Elections Office website on election night.

Voters may also drop off ballots or vote in person at the Elections Office, 3501 Civic Center Drive, Room 121, Marin Civic Center, San Rafael, through Election Day. Office hours are 8 AM to 4:30 PM weekdays and on Election Day, 7 AM to 8 PM.
