Immigration Community Resources

The immigration consequences of a criminal conviction can have devastating consequences to an individual. In Kentucky v. Padilla, 559 U.S. 356 (2010), the United States Supreme Court mandated that criminal defense attorneys must advise non-citizen clients about the deportation risks of a guilty plea. As a result of Padilla, public defenders and immigration advocacy groups are providing information on community resources available to address immigration issues. In Marin County, Canal Alliance provides information on immigration issues. Canal Alliance is located at 91 Larkspur St. San Rafael, CA 94901. You can contact Canal Alliance at (415) 454-2640 or by email.
