Research studies are important to how we make our policies. We prepare them to inform new policies and regulations. Our studies cover a variety of topics that are relevant to Marin County, such as sea level rise, housing, and land use. Read our recent studies below.

 

Bulkheads are human-made structures that alter natural coastlines to protect development. This study looks at sea level rise risks to existing bulkheads along Tomales Bay's eastern shoreline.

The Local Coastal Program is a land use plan for Marin County’s coastal zone that guides land use and development in accordance with the California Coastal Act.
