Senate Bill 9 (SB 9) is a California State Law that changes density limits in single-unit (single-family) zones and makes it easier to apply for a lot split or two-unit development in a single-unit zone that meets certain criteria.
The purpose of the Housing Element, a required chapter of the
Countywide Plan, is to achieve an adequate supply of decent, safe, and affordable housing for Marin’s workforce, residents, and special needs populations.
