Mount Burdell Preserve

An expansive preserve adjacent to Novato's residential communities.

Directions

South access: from Hwy 101 in Novato, take the exit for San Marin Dr west 2.1 miles. Turn right onto San Carlos Way and follow to end (dead end).

East access: from Hwy 101 in Novato, take the exit for San Marin Dr west, turn right at Redwood Blvd, turn left at Wood Hollow Dr, and turn left at Fieldstone Dr. Trailhead is on the right.

West access: from Hwy 101 in Novato, take the exit for San Marin Dr west 2.3 miles. Turn right onto San Andreas Dr and follow approximately 0.5 miles. The gate is on the right (before dead end).

Bowman Canyon Creek area can be accessed from Novato Boulevard, via an unnamed road approximately 0.85 miles past the San Marin Boulevard intersection.

Parking

Street parking only to access Mount Burdell. Please be respectful of local residents. Do not block streets, gates, or driveways.

Parking is limited on the unnamed access road to the new Bowman Canyon Creek area. Stay out of adjacent private property and no parking areas along the road.

Horse trailers should avoid entering this the Bowman Canyon Creek area as there is no turn around.
