San Rafael, CA – After receiving extensive public feedback in the past week, the County of Marin has decided to allow for more public review time for its new draft ordinance about medicinal cannabis delivery-only retail business regulations for the unincorporated area of Marin County.
The ordinance, prepared by the Marin County Community Development Agency (CDA), was scheduled to be brought before the Marin County Board of Supervisors on September 26 and for a final hearing on October 10. Instead, the County will conduct a public workshop and hear public comment during the regularly scheduled October 10 Supervisors meeting. The public is invited to comment before the first reading of the ordinance October 31. A final public hearing is set for November 14.
All three meetings before the Board of Supervisors will start at 1:30 p.m. in the Board chamber, Suite 330, 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael.
In addition, a separate Q&A session with CDA staff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. September 19 in the Board chamber; that is unchanged from a previous notice.
If the ordinance is approved November 14, a license application period would begin.
The public may review now the draft ordinance on the County’s website. For more background on the ordinance, see the County’s September 8 news release.
