Manual Tally Starts for June 7 Election

Deadline to certify primary election is July 7

San Rafael, CA – The Marin County Elections Department started the manual tally of the June 7 Statewide Direct Primary Election on Tuesday, June 21. Notice of the date, time and place of the activities was posted on June 16 on the department’s website, www.marinvotes.org.

Following California Elections Code §15360, Marin County’s Election Official randomly selects the ballots to be counted and begins the count immediately thereafter. All work is performed in the Marin County Elections Department located in Suite 121 of the Marin County Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael.

The tally will continue weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. until it is completed. Registrar of Voters Lynda Roberts anticipates certifying the election prior to the July 7 deadline.
