Free COVID-19 Testing Kiosk to Open in Novato

Results to be returned within two days

San Rafael, CA – Starting September 28, a new COVID-19 testing kiosk will be open at the Novato Gymnastic Center in downtown Novato. The fully automated process will be free and results will be returned in two days or less.

The kiosk at 950 7th Street is courtesy of a partnership between the City of Novato and Curative Inc., brokered by the Marin County Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). It will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays from noon to 6 p.m.

Walk-up testing is available and welcomed, but appointments are preferred at cur.tv/gymnastics.

Testing plays an important role in identifying active COVID-19 infection and the need to quarantine or isolate from others with the purpose of limiting community spread of the virus.

Anyone who is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should be tested as soon as possible, even if that person is already fully vaccinated.

Those who are unvaccinated should get tested if they:

  • have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19;
  • have taken part in activities that put them at higher risk for COVID-19; such as travel, attending large gatherings, or being in crowded indoor settings; or
  • their employer, such as a health care facility, requires routine screening.

Testing appointments are accessible throughout Marin County at medical offices, community test sites, pharmacies, and independent providers. Free testing for the uninsured is available at most locations. More information about COVID-19 testing in Marin can be found at Coronavirus.MarinHHS.org/Testing.
