Fair Staff ‘Over the Moon’ About Awards

Cultural Services brings home 42 honors from Western Fairs Association

San Rafael, CA – The 2019 Marin County Fair, with its theme of Over the Moon, took home 42 individual achievement awards including both Featured Program awards at the recent Western Fairs Association (WFA) annual conference in Reno, Nevada.

The WFA, a 150-member trade association representing fairs in the western United States and Canada, recognizes excellence in the fair industry at its convention and provides a forum for fairs to share successful ideas and programs.

“I am literally over the moon with pride for our team who makes the Marin County Fair such an award-winning success,” said Director of Cultural Services Gabriella C. Calicchio. “From innovative marketing campaigns to engaging agricultural and competitive exhibits programming, our fair is truly a community event that we cherish each summer. We thank WFA for recognizing our hard work and forward-thinking strategies we put forth for our fair every year.”

The 2019 Fair was bestowed with 21 First Place awards, 14 Second Place awards and seven Third Place awards. Awards included Recruitment and/or Retention Program (Paid Staff & Volunteers), Fairtime Innovative Marketing Strategy or Concept, New Innovative use of Technology, and more.
