Trail Bridge & Gully Repair

A new trail bridge in Stafford Lake Bike Park improves visitor safety while reducing erosion.

UPDATED: OCTOBER 1, 2018

The bridge provides an important connection between two parts of the Stafford Lake Bike Park, a link from the first phase to the second phase of the park. For years seasonal run-off had been destabilizing the slope, creating a headcut and washout gully. The project created a new rock-lined drainage way for storm water, stabilizing the hillside, and creating a safe passage for visitors on bike via the bridge.

On this project Parks coordinated the work of geotechnical engineers and construction professionals, as well as staff scientists who advised on minimizing the environmental impact of construction.
