Recorder, County Clerk Divisions Return Home

With office upgrades completed, divisions shift back at Civic Center

San Rafael, CA – The Marin County Recorder’s and County Clerk’s offices are returning home after temporary moves down the hallways of the Marin County Civic Center in San Rafael.

As of 9 a.m. May 1, visitors can head to Suite 232 for recording needs and Suite 234 for County Clerk functions now that remodeling and customer-service upgrades are completed. Larger lobbies in both offices and upgraded electrical and data connections are expected to provide enhanced service to those submitting or searching recordings or filings.

“Replacing our outdated wiring and data lines with fiberoptic technology will help us to serve our online and in-person customers more efficiently,” said Shelly Scott, the County’s Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk. “We are excited to welcome customers back.”

Both divisions of the Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk Department had been temporarily located in Suite 255, where signage is now posted to direct visitors to their destinations.

Regular office hours are weekdays from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Documents for recording must be presented before 3 p.m. for same-day recording, and County Clerk filings must be completed by 3:30 each day.

For more information, the Recorder may be reached at (415) 473-6093 or by email. The County Clerk is best reached at (415) 473-6152 or by email.
