Digital Marin Surveys Businesses on Internet Access

San Rafael, CA – As part of robust outreach and data collection efforts, the Digital Marin project to improve access to online data is seeking feedback from Marin’s Business Community via an online survey in English and Spanish. It includes questions about access, quality, use of the internet, and the ability to successfully run a business where communication and access to information are increasingly done via the internet, websites, applications, and email. The responses will help identify potential projects and priorities for the digital roadmap.

Letterhead says Digital Marin with a artsy graphic in the middle of the two words.Digital Marin was launched in December 2020.

Digital Marin has set the following goals:

  • Everyone, including Marin’s businesses, has access to high quality, affordable internet and knows how to use it.
  • Local networks and connections can survive a disaster.
  • Communities are better served through collaborative services.
  • Online services are easy to use and work for people.

The County of Marin is part of the cross-sector effort to develop a countywide strategic plan to look beyond infrastructure needs, and identify opportunities for data sharing, efficiencies, resiliency, and digital service improvements. The collaboration is driven by an 11-member steering committee comprised of residents and leaders from business, government agencies, nonprofits, health care, and education.

In addition to the Business Survey, the Digital Marin team is conducting a Residents Survey, plus focus groups, interviews, and sector-specific surveys with various stakeholder groups in Marin.
