Get a Start-to-Finish Update on Home Sustainability

Free webinar series on energy savings gets underway September 18

San Rafael, CA – Don’t know where to start with home energy efficiency and sustainability improvements? The Marin County Sustainability Team is hosting a series of free public webinars designed to take participants through the whole process.

The “Home Sustainability Webinar Series: The Homeowner Journey” will include online workshops covering home energy audits, energy efficiency and electrification projects, solar and battery storage, and electric vehicles.

Each webinar topic will take place twice, once on a weekend morning and once on a weekday evening, and will feature program and industry experts and professionals. Each session will last about an hour and participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of the panelists.

Residents are encouraged to attend for the whole series but are welcome to tune in for the topics that are of most interest. The two sessions listed for each topic will be identical; there’s no need to attend both.

  • Home Energy Audits: Know where to start with home efficiency and comfort improvements. Hear from local government program implementors and professional energy raters on the benefits of knowing your home’s “miles per gallon” and how a home energy audit can help homeowners plan for future home improvements.

  • Energy Efficiency and Electrification Projects: Get some work done. Hear from home performance contractors and local government program implementors on building science, home comfort and health, electrification projects, and rebate programs.

  • Solar and Battery Storage: Start powering your home with the sun and get prepared for power outages. Learn about residential solar and battery storage system and how they can work together to keep your lights on during blackouts and lower your utility bills.

  • Electric Vehicles: Cut your gasoline expenses and reduce emissions. Learn about current technology trends and rebate programs relating to electric vehicles and electric vehicles charging.
