Vacancies on Disaster and Citizens Corps Council

Openings for District 3 resident and Marin Managers Association representative

San Rafael, CA – The application deadline is 5 p.m. Monday, December 27, for an appointment to the Marin County Disaster Council.

There is one vacancy representing supervisorial District 3 (Mill Valley, Strawberry, Tiburon, Belvedere, Marin City, Tam Valley, Sausalito) on the Marin County Disaster and Citizens Corps Council (DC3). There is another vacancy representing the Marin Managers Association, to be appointed through the Marin Managers Association.

The Disaster Council reviews matters pertaining to disaster preparedness progress in the public and private sectors and promotes disaster preparedness through communication and education. It works to harness  the power of every resident through training, outreach, and volunteer service to make families, homes and communities safer from natural and/or manmade emergencies. The council reviews, evaluates, and communicates to decision makers and the public on all matters pertaining to disaster preparedness.

The appointing authority is the Marin County Board of Supervisors, and the terms are for two years.
