Register by April 22 to Vote May 7 in Inverness

Deadline coming for voters in Inverness Public Utility District

San Rafael, CA – With the deadline fast approaching, now is the time to register to vote in the May election for those living in the Inverness Public Utility District. Voters can register online at www.registertovote.ca.gov or fill out and mail a voter registration form, which must be postmarked on or before April 22.

Lynda Roberts, Marin County’s Registrar of Voters, reminds voters that this is a vote-by-mail election and there are no polling places. However, voters may come to the Elections Department office during regular business hours to cast ballots. On Election Day, they may vote in the office from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Roberts has a few more reminders:

  • Starting April 15, a secure drop box will be located outside the Civic Center main entrance on Peter Behr Drive and will be available through 8 p.m. Election Day.
  • Be sure to sign the ballot envelope with a signature that matches the one on the voter registration form.
  • If the April 22 registration deadline is missed, voters may register online or in the Elections Department office, but they will have to vote in the Elections Department. Ballots cannot be mailed to those who register late.

Anyone may check their voter registration status by going to www.marinvotes.org and clicking on the Voter Information Portal. Call the registrar’s 24-hour phone line at 415-473-6456 or 415-473-6448 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays to check registration.
