Candidate Filing Opens for March 2020 Election

Nominations accepted through December 6

San Rafael, CA – The nomination period is open for federal, state and local offices in the March 3, 2020, Presidential Primary Election.

The nomination period ends at 5 p.m. Friday, December 6, with an extension to Wednesday, December 11, if an incumbent officeholder does not file.

Open seats include U.S. Representative in Congress, California State Assembly member, County Central committee member, Superior Court Judge offices, County Board of Supervisors and directors of two special districts, Almonte Sanitary District and Sanitary District No. 1.

Except for those running for city and town offices, candidates may pick up and file their nomination papers at the Marin County Elections Department, Suite 121, Marin County Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael. The hours are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and until 5 p.m. on Friday, December 6.

The deadline to register to vote in the March election is Monday, February 17.
