DA Offers Training on Immigration Policy

August 27 session at Civic Center covers consequences in criminal cases

San Rafael, CA – The Marin County District Attorney’s Office is hosting a community training August 27 to provide an overview of prosecution and defense roles in the current landscape of immigration policies.

Jerry P. Coleman, a special deputy for immigration matters at the D.A.’s Office, is the featured speaker along with Rose Cahn of the Immigration Legal Resource Center and Rachael Keast of the Marin County Public Defender’s Office.

DA Lori Frugoli said the training in the Board of Supervisors chamber will help non-lawyers understand the considerations that take place when justice partners consider immigration consequences in criminal cases.

By hosting occasional trainings, Frugoli’s office promotes public safety through innovative and collaborative approaches to crime prevention and prosecution while maintaining a commitment to victims' rights, offender rehabilitation, consumer protection, and public engagement.

The training is set for 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, in Suite 330 inside the Marin County Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael. RSVP by email by August 26 or direct questions to the DA’s Office at 415-473-6450.
