Marin County Fire Ambulance Involved in Collision

Three individuals transported to hospital after San Anselmo crash

San Rafael, CA – Three individuals were taken to Marin General Hospital for medical attention after a collision between a private vehicle and a Marin County Fire Department (MCFD) ambulance.

The collision occurred at 9:47 AM April 14 on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at Broadmoor Avenue, near Sir Francis Drake High School in San Anselmo.

Twenty-five minutes earlier, MCFD Medic 96 had responded to a bicycle versus vehicle accident on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard on Whites Hill in Fairfax. MCFD paramedics were transporting the injured bicyclist to Marin General Hospital when the second collision on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard occurred.

Ross Valley Fire, Ross Valley Paramedic Authority, Corte Madera Fire, and Mill Valley Fire responded to the second crash site. An ambulance was dispatched for the cyclist injured in the Whites Hill incident, and two additional ambulances were dispatched for an injured MCFD paramedic and the driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash. The MCFD paramedic has since been released from medical care.

Central Marin Police Authority is leading an investigation to determine the cause of the Sir Francis Drake Boulevard crash.
