San Rafael, CA – All registered voters will have the opportunity to vote in the November 6 General Election, and the Marin County Elections Department has shared lots of information on its website to local residents prepare before they cast ballots.

Candidates for several state offices, including governor, state senator and state assembly, will be on the ballot along with candidates for United States Senator and United States Representative. The run-off election for Marin County District Attorney will be included. Sausalito residents will vote for city council members, and ballots will include candidates for school districts and special districts.
All voters will have the opportunity to vote on countywide Measure AA, a proposed renewal of a half-cent sales tax over 30 years to fund projects and programs of the Transportation Authority of Marin.
The ballot will include several local measures depending on where voters live. Shoreline Unified School District and Tamalpais Union High School District have measures on the ballot, as do several fire protection districts. Many cities and towns have measures on the ballot including Larkspur, Sausalito, Corte Madera, Fairfax, Ross, and San Anselmo. Voters living in the West Marin Transient Occupancy Tax Area will be able to vote on Measure W, and Bolinas Community Public Utility District has an advisory measure on the ballot, Measure X.

Voters in the November election should be aware of these important dates:
- September 27: Voter Information Guide/Sample Ballot booklets mailed
- October 8: Vote-by-mail ballots mailed, and voting begins in Elections Department weekdays 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- October 22: Last day to mail voter registration form
- October 23 through November 6: If you miss the registration deadline, you may register and vote in the Elections Department
- October 30: Applications for a vote-by-mail ballot must be received by the Elections Department to fulfill the request by mail. After this date, voters wishing to vote by mail must get a ballot in person at the Elections Department.
- November 6: Election Day
- Polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Elections Department open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. for registering and voting by mail
- Vote-by-mail ballot envelopes must be signed and postmarked on or before this day
- Voters can drop their vote-by-mail ballot (in its signed envelope) at the Elections Department or any polling place by 8 p.m.
