Getting Ready for Fair’s Five-Day Run of Fun

‘All For One & Fun For All’ is June 30 through July 4 in San Rafael

San Rafael, CA – The 2018 Marin County Fair, with the theme of All For One & Fun For All, shifts into high gear on June 30 with the start of its five-day run of spectacular all-ages fun in San Rafael.

A woman appears to be having fun as she rides on a circular-twirling swing at a past Marin County Fair. The carnival rides are one of the main attractions at the annual Marin County Fair.
Highlights include nightly fireworks over the Civic Center lagoon, household-name headliner recording artists, lots of other live entertainment, carnival rides, a barnyard and a petting zoo, and creative exhibits. All of that will be topped off with a delicious variety of foods and refreshing treats and beverages.

The fair opens at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, and runs through 11 p.m. Wednesday, July 4, at the Marin County Fairgrounds.

“Our theme this year, All For One & Fun For All, is an opportunity to celebrate everyone in our community,” said Gabriella C. Calicchio, Marin County Director of Cultural Services. “It was created to showcase the best of what we each have to offer, whether it’s a poem, a fifth-grader’s art project, a hip-hop dancer, a grandmother’s quilt or three generations of a family working on an ‘art in the spot’ project. At the fair, we don’t care what your country of origin is, what color skin you have, or what your religious or political beliefs are. We care about creating a safe space for everyone to leave their worries behind and have fun.”

Tickets are available online and at the entrance. A small service fee applies. For more information, visit the Marin County Fair website.
