San Rafael, CA – From June 30 through July 4, a total of 104,942 people passed through the ticket gates at the 77th Marin County Fair, generating $1,494,744 million in ticket revenue.
Nightly fireworks and the ferris wheel were popular attractions at the five-day Marin County Fair.
The
Marin County Department of Cultural Services, which manages the fair, reported 86,936 paid attendance and 8,091 comp admission tickets over the five-day fair. The biggest day was the Fourth of July, when 30,592 people celebrated the holiday at the fairgrounds, breaking single-day record set in 1984.
The fair’s theme, All for One & Fun for All, celebrated inclusiveness, equality, diversity with programming, exhibits, performances and more. Headline concerts by the Beach Boys, Los Lobos, LeAnn Rimes, Eddie Money, and Michael Franti & Spearhead entertained fairgoers each night.

- 9,915 children admitted free, including 6,770 on Kids Free Day

- More than 15,000 items were entered in the competitive exhibits program, from fine art to cookies and trash-to-treasure creations
- 6,400 corn dogs sold at Rocket Dog
- 6,300 organic lemons squeezed by Phil’s Organic Lemonade
- 1,680 Hawaiian pineapple teriyaki bowls sold
- 105 artworks sold in the fine art and exhibits area totaling $37,000 in art sales ($21,000 on the Fourth of July alone); the majority of the works were by Marin County artists
- More than 91 percent waste diversion with recycling and composting efforts
- The petting zoo featured 40 animals, from alpacas to zebus
- 12 pigs ran a total of 60 laps in the Great American Pig Races
