Oversight Committee Seeks Volunteers

Expertise needed on Parks, Open Space and Farmland Preservation group

San Rafael, CA –There are four term expirations coming up on the Marin County Measure A (Parks) Community Oversight Committee, and the deadline for applications is 5 p.m. Friday, January 22.

Marin voters approved the Marin Parks, Open Space and Farmland Preservation Transactions and Use Tax Ordinance (Marin County Ordinance 3586) on November 6, 2012. The volunteer committee reviews annual expenditures to ensure conformity to the Ordinance 3586 Expenditure Plan, and assists staff in directing an annual audit and preparing an annual report that describes how funds were spent. 

All committee members must be Marin residents who are neither elected officials of any government body nor employees from agencies or organizations that either oversee or benefit from the tax receipts of Measure A.
