Elections Department Makes Voting Convenient

Saturday voting offered on November 5; outdoor ballot box available

San Rafael, CA – The Marin County Elections Department will be open on Saturday, November 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to offer in-person voting. Voters may also cast ballots in person during regular weekday hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or on Election Day, November 8, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Do you vote by mail? Your ballot must be postmarked no later than Election Day and received by the Elections Department within three days. Registrar of Voters Lynda Roberts encourages voters to mail ballots five business days before the election if possible, or return them to any polling place in Marin from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day.

A red, white and blue secure ballot drop box is stationed at the main entrance to the Marin Civic Center through 8 p.m. Election Day. The main entrance is on Peter Behr Drive under the Civic Center’s south archway.

If you are expecting a ballot and haven’t received it yet, please contact the Elections Department immediately by calling 415-473-6444 or the main number, 415-473-6456.

Tuesday, November 1, is the last day to request a ballot be mailed to you. After Tuesday, voters may apply for a ballot in person at the Elections Department located in Suite 121, Marin Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive.  For more information, or to get a ballot for this election, go to www.marinvotes.org or call the Elections Department at 415-473-6441 or 415-473-6444.

One last crucial reminder from Roberts: Please sign and date your ballot envelope. “In order to process ballots quickly, the return envelope must be signed,” she said. “Following up with voters to get their signature is very time consuming and creates delays.”
