San Rafael, CA – Marin County Parks is planning to release an annual report for fiscal year 2013-14 that provides a broad overview of department goals and achievements. It will be presented to the Marin County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, January 13, and made available online that day.
The report covers budgets; staff functions; important planning, acquisition, maintenance and capital improvement projects; and features accomplishments made possible by Measure A, the a quarter-cent retail transactions and use tax passed by voters in November 2012.
Thanks to Measure A, Marin’s parks, preserves and family farms are being protected and cared for like never before. During the first year since Measure A’s passage, Marin County Parks has increased its capacity to improve and expand visitor services, protect wildlife, implement integrated pest management techniques, plan and manage habitat restoration and construction projects, reduce the threat of wildfire through vegetation management, and take on more volunteers.
The annual report will be available January 13 at www.marincountyparks.org and in print at the Marin Civic Center and other venues throughout the community. Contact External Affairs Coordinator Kevin Wright at 415-473-2129 or kwright@marincounty.org with questions.
