More Time for Human Rights Commission Applicants

Deadline extended to July 6; Supervisors seek seven for advisory board

San Rafael, CA – The Marin County Board of Supervisors have extended the application deadline for seven vacancies on the Marin County Human Rights Commission. The Supervisors chose to make 5 p.m., July 6, the new deadline during their June 9 meeting. The two-week extension will help assure a pool of applicants with a wide range of experience from all over the county.

All applicants must be Marin residents. The Supervisors are seeking representatives from each of the five supervisorial districts plus two at-large representatives from anywhere in the county.

The commission’s mission is to promote a community based on social justice with equality for all and to eliminate discrimination based on race, religion, color, age, ancestry, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, place of birth, national origin, or disability. The commission shall provide a public forum, serve as a resource to the community, and advise the Supervisors on human rights issues.
