San Rafael, CA – Voter pamphlets with information about local candidates and measures on the ballot for the November 3 Local Election have been mailed to registered voters in Marin County. The pamphlet includes the address of the voter’s polling place and an application for a vote-by-mail ballot. Permanent vote-by-mail voters need not reapply.
Registrar of Voters Lynda Roberts said the voter pamphlet is an important source of information about the races and measures, and includes details concerning each item on the ballot, voter access or language needs, voting at the polls, and voting by mail. A sample ballot gives voters the opportunity to see each ballot item in advance.
“I highly recommend sitting down in a comfortable spot when you’re not too busy to go through the pamphlet, even just for a few minutes,” Roberts said. “You’ll feel so much more informed when it comes time to cast your vote.”
Roberts asks voters to remember that the post office does not forward election-related mail. Voters must re-register when their address changes in order to receive their election-related mail.
If you don’t receive a voter pamphlet, take note that some areas of Marin are not included in this election because races did not go to the ballot. Call the Elections Office if you have questions.
If you’re not registered to vote in Marin, there’s still time to register. The deadline for the November 3 election is Monday, October 19.
Voters can go to the County Elections Office website to check their registration, update their address, or register to vote. Voters can call 415-473-6456 to check their registration and request a voter registration form in the mail.
