San Rafael, CA –Your opportunity to file as a candidate in the November 3 Uniform District Election is almost over.
The nomination period ends at 5 p.m. Friday, August 7, with an extension to Wednesday, August 12, if an incumbent officeholder does not file.
The complete list of open seats and qualifications is on the Elections Department website. Seats are open on the Marin County Board of Education, school district boards, city and town councils, community service districts, fire protection districts, public utility districts, sanitary districts, and water districts.
Except for city and town offices, candidates may pick up and file their nomination papers at the Marin County Elections Department, Suite 121, Marin County Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael. The hours are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and until 5 p.m. on Friday, August 7.
Candidates for city and town offices must pick up and file nomination papers at the office of their city or town clerk.
The deadline to register to vote in this election is Monday, October 19. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3.
