How We’ll Report November 4 Election Results

First numbers will be available shortly after 8 p.m. on election night

San Rafael, CA – With anticipation building for the November 4 General Election, the Marin County Elections Office would like to explain the process of reporting vote results to those who tend to wear out their “refresh” buttons.

Results of vote-by-mail ballots returned before November 4 will be available shortly after 8 p.m. on election night. The first report from precincts is expected at about 9:30 p.m. election night, and will be updated about every 30 minutes thereafter until all ballots are returned from the polls by approximately 11 p.m. 

Results will be posted to the Elections Department website, www.marinvotes.org, and updated every Friday by 5 p.m. until the votes are certified in late November.

Meanwhile, voting is underway in Suite 121 at the Marin County Civic Center in San Rafael. Registered voters may drop in to vote or pick up a ballot during regular weekday hours or until 8 p.m. on Election Day. Voters who want to get a ballot in the mail may apply by October 28 may do so at www.marinvotes.org, by calling 415-473-6441 or 415-473-6444, or by faxing a request to 415-473-6447.

The Office will be open for voting on Saturday, November 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Election Day, November 4, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
