Register by Oct. 20 to Vote in November

Deadline is only 7 days away

San Rafael, CA – With the deadline fast approaching, now is the time to register to vote in the November election. Voters can register online at registertovote.ca.gov or fill out and mail a voter registration form, which must be post marked on or before Oct. 20.

Lynda Roberts, Marin County’s Registrar of Voters, said she encourages every unregistered eligible voter to get registered and participate in the November election. The goal is to exceed Marin’s 87 percent voter turnout from the 2012 presidential election, which was the highest percentage in California.

“I believe this election is very important since the issues to be voted on will impact us as California residents,” Roberts said. “The county received a lot of positive attention for the turnout two years ago, and it would be very exciting to see that high of a turnout again.”

Not sure if you’re registered to vote? Check the status of your registration by calling the registrar’s 24-hour phone line at 415-473-6456 or by going to www.marinvotes.org. You can also call 415-473-6448 to check your registration between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays.

Postage-paid voter registration forms are available at post offices, libraries, city/town clerk offices, the Department of Motor Vehicles and the Elections Office, Suite 121 of at the Marin Civic Center Administration building, 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael.
