County to Auction Off Surplus Vehicles April 13-19

Department of Public Works to offer deals online

San Rafael, CA – Six vehicles will be available for public purchase starting April 13 when the Marin County Department of Public Works starts an online auction.

Sedans, SUVs and a road rescue vehicle are among the sale items. All vehicles and equipment will be available through PublicSurplus.com, a secure auction website specializing in selling government property to the public. Vehicles and equipment are listed significantly below Blue Book value.

As the County’s goals remain fixed on budget reduction and environmental consciousness, the County fleet is being trimmed and vehicles with high fuel consumption are being replaced by hybrids or flex fuel options. The retirement of diesel vehicles is in compliance with California’s Air Quality regulations.

The auction begins at midnight on the morning of April 13 and lasts until 2 p.m. April 19. Details about the auction items are not available until the auction begins.

All vehicles and the corresponding service records will be available for inspection from noon to 3 p.m. April 15-17 at the County Garage, 6 Peter Behr Dr., San Rafael. All items are sold “as is” and all sales are final; it is the bidder’s responsibility to check the vehicle’s condition prior to purchase.

For auction details, contact Dodie Goldberg at dgoldberg@marincounty.org or 415-473-7067. Requests for accommodation can be made by calling 415-473-4381 or 415-473-3232 (TDD/TTY) or by e-mail at disabilityaccess@marincounty.org at least four business days prior to event.
