San Rafael, CA – The Marin/Sonoma Mosquito & Vector Control Board (MSMVCB) has a vacancy for a trustee from West Marin, and the Marin County Board of Supervisors is eager to appoint a qualified candidate to fill the seat. The application deadline is 5 p.m. Dec. 27.
The Mosquito & Vector Control District is responsible for the prevention, elimination or control of mosquitoes and other arthropods known to be potential carriers of infectious diseases, or presenting a public nuisance, for Marin and Sonoma counties. Although the 24 trustees are appointed by various regional boards and councils, the position is required by the Health and Safety Code to also represent the mission and interests of the district as a whole.
Each member of the Board of Trustees appointed by the Marin County Board of Supervisors shall be a registered voter and a resident of that portion of the county within the district.
