Elections Department to Open Saturday, February 29

Residents may register and vote from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

San Rafael, CA – The Marin County Elections Department will be ready to assist residents with registering and voting on Saturday, February 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Voters also may come to the San Rafael office to drop off their vote-by-mail ballot.

“The response to this election has been significant, and we want to give residents more time to register and vote in the office,” said Registrar of Voters Lynda Roberts. “We want every vote to count.”

Roberts said ballots for the March 3 Presidential Primary Election have been coming in steadily and has a few reminders.

In addition to signing the ballot return envelope, remember that it must be postmarked on or before March 3, Election Day.

If a voter decides not to mail the ballot, there are other return options:

  • Return the voted ballot sealed in the signed envelope to the Elections Department weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Return the voted ballot sealed in the signed envelope to any polling location before 8 p.m. Election Day.
  • Use the dropbox stationed at the main entrance to the Marin Civic Center through 8 p.m. Election Day. The main entrance is on Peter Behr Drive under the Civic Center’s south archway. The address is 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael.

Voters may use the Voter Information Portal (VIP) (VIP) to check the status of a vote-by-mail ballot.
