Ballots Coming Soon for August 27 Special Election

Voters in two districts to decide on special tax measures

San Rafael, CA – Key dates are coming up in an August 27 special election for residents living within the Bolinas-Stinson Union School District and the Inverness Permanent Road Division No. 2. Both are vote-by-mail elections; no polling places will be open except for the Marin County Elections Department at the Civic Center in San Rafael.

Voters in the school district will be voting yes or no on Measure B, determining the amount of a special tax for quality educational programs.

Voters in the road division will vote on Measure C, determining the amount of a special tax for road maintenance.

All registered voters within the districts will receive a postage-paid envelope along with their ballot and must remember to sign the envelope before mailing it back. Also, the ballot envelope must be postmarked on or before Election Day or it won’t count.

Those planning to participate in the election should be aware of the following dates:

  • July 29: Ballots will be mailed to all registered voters in the districts. This is also the first day to vote in the Elections Department between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. in Suite 121 at the Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael.
  • August 13: Starting on this day and until 8 p.m. Election Day, eligible residents who are not registered may come to the Elections Department to register and vote.
  • August 20: The last day the Elections Department can mail a ballot. After this day, voters wishing to vote must get a ballot in person at the Elections Department.
  • August 27: Ballot return envelopes must be signed and postmarked on or before this day or dropped at the Elections Department by 8 p.m. Voting is available in the Elections Department from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Election Day.
