Registration Deadline April 23 on Dixie Schools Vote

Election is May 8; Voting is only by mail as no polling stations will be open

San Rafael, CA – With the deadline fast approaching, now is the time to register to vote in the May 8 election if you live in the Dixie School District in the northern areas of San Rafael. Voters can register online at www.registertovote.ca.gov or fill out and mail a voter registration form, which must be post marked on or before April 23.

Lynda Roberts, Marin County’s Registrar of Voters, reminds voters that this is a vote-by-mail election so there are no polling places. However, you may come to the Elections Department office during regular business hours to vote. On Election Day, you may vote in the office from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Roberts has a few more reminders:

  • If you miss the April 23 registration deadline, you may register online or in the Elections Department office, but you will have to vote in the Elections Department. Ballots cannot be mailed to those who register late.
  • Be sure to sign your ballot envelope with your signature that matches your voter registration form.
  • Starting April 24, a secure drop box will be located outside the Civic Center main entrance on Peter Behr Drive and will be available through 8 p.m. Election Day.

Not sure if you are registered to vote? Check the status of your registration by going to our website and clicking on the Voter Information Portal. You may also call the registrar’s 24-hour phone line at 415-473-6456, or 415-473-6448 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays to check your registration.
