Key Dates for Special School District Election

Renewal of special tax in Twin Cities to be considered in vote-by-mail election

San Rafael, CA – The Larkspur-Corte Madera School District has called a special election for May 3, and the Marin County Elections Office said the election will be vote by mail only with no polling places.

Voters living within the school district will be voting yes or no on Measure A to determine if the expiring special tax should be renewed for eight years. Voters will receive a postage-paid envelope along with their ballot, and must remember to sign the envelope before mailing it back. Also, the ballot envelope must be postmarked on or before May 3 in order to count.

Voters should be aware of key dates in this election:

  • March 28: Voter information pamphlets will be mailed to all registered voters.
  • April 4: Vote-by-mail ballots will be mailed to all registered voters. This is also the first day voters in the district can vote in the Elections Department between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. in Suite 121 at the Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael.
  • April 14: Contact the Elections Department if you have not received your voter information pamphlet or vote-by-mail ballot.
  • April 18: Last day to register to vote in this election.
  • April 26: The last day the Elections Department can mail a vote-by-mail ballot. After this day, voters wishing to vote must get a ballot in person at the Elections Department.
  • May 3: Remember there are no polling places for this election. Ballot return envelopes must be signed and postmarked on or before this day, or dropped at the Elections Department by 8 p.m. Registered voters in the district may vote at the Elections Department from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Election Day.
