Notice of Election Deadline for Filing Argument and Rebuttals for Bond Measure AA

November 5, 2024, General Election

NOTICE OF ELECTION AND
DEADLINES FOR FILING ARGUMENTS AND REBUTTALS FOR
PETALUMA JOINT UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT BOND MEASURE
TO BE VOTED ON IN MARIN COUNTY AT THE
November 5, 2024, General Election

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the qualified electors of Petaluma Joint Union High School District located in the counties of Marin and Sonoma, that the date of the statewide General Election is Tuesday, November 5, 2024, and the following measure will be on the ballot.

MEASURE AA – PETALUMA JOINT UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT

Local High/ Junior High School Improvement Measure.  To repair/ upgrade local high/ junior high school classrooms, science labs, technology/ job training facilities; improve fire/ earthquake safety/ campus security; remove hazardous materials like lead/ asbestos; repair leaky roofs, outdated portable classrooms, HVAC, electrical, plumbing; shall Petaluma Joint Union High School District’s measure be adopted authorizing $159,000,000 in bonds at legal rates, at $30 per $100,000 assessed value while bonds are outstanding ($9,100,000 annually), with independent oversight, and no funds for administrators?

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that arguments for or against Measure AA must be filed with County of Sonoma Elections Department during regular business hours, weekdays 8 AM to 5 PM.  Arguments are due by Friday, August 16, 2024.  Rebuttal arguments are due by Friday, August 23, 2024.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that those wishing to file an argument may call County of Sonoma Elections Department at 707-565-6800 or email them for information about requirements.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the first day to vote at the Marin Civic Center Elections Department and the first day for the Registrar of Voters to mail vote-by-mail ballots for the General Election is October 7, 2024. The Marin County Elections Department is located at 3501 Civic Center Drive, Room 121, San Rafael, California, 94903. 

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that early voting will be available at select vote centers starting 10 days prior to Election Day.  Additional vote centers will open starting 3 days prior to Election Day. Check the Elections Department website for locations and hours of operation.  All vote centers will be open from 7 AM to 8 PM on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
